New Recruit Guide

Exercise and fitness helps you build strength, increase flexibility, lose weight and develop greater mental focus.
This guide gives you the basic information to get started. Remember, the hardest part is walking through the door on your first day of bootcamp! We have a diverse group of instructors who are all fully certified personal trainers. They bring to the table, all different backgrounds in fitness. We have individuals who previously were collegiate track & field athletes and others who have an extensive background in soccer. Each instructor utilizes their experience and style of exercise in order to produce a unique and unparalleled fitness experience. You will never get the same workout twice!
FIRST CLASS ADVICE
Wear comfortable clothing that allows for a full range of motion. Please wear black shorts or pants and comfortable shoes.
Bring a bottle of water in order to stay hydrated.
CLASS DESCRIPTION
DESIGN
Each class begins with a dynamic warm-up designed to elevate core temperature and increase flexibility. This prepares you for the strenuous workout to come. We then often complete a run ranging from a few laps to a mile. If you are a slow runner, do not be discouraged. We have many ways of accommodating all fitness abilities. Most of the exercises in Fitness Rangers Bootcamp utilize your own body weight and develop tremendous core strength. This allows you to become much more proficient in life’s daily tasks.
CIRCUIT TRAINING
We put these exercises into an intense circuit training format. Exercises include but are not limited to:
- Push-ups, Pull-ups, Lunges, Squats, Sit-ups, Plyometrics, Speed/Agility/Flexibility training.
The exercises come to you at a fast pace, military style. This form of rudimentary exercise allows you to build strong muscle, burn more fat, and develop amazing core strength and flexibility, all while increasing your cardiovascular ability. The results are astounding! 2 hours a week of circuit training is more effective than 5 hours a week of sustained cardio.
TEAMWORK
Teamwork is an important motivating factor for a Fitness Ranger. Together we can achieve much more than we ever would on our own. We will gladly do the workouts with you and will not ask you to do anything that you are not capable of. The results and your fitness level will dramatically increase throughout your time with us because of this teamwork component. Pre and post assessments put your improvements into a measurable format.
Even though we will work you harder than you can imagine, we have fun and you will leave each class with a sense of accomplishment. You will do more in 1 hour than most people do in an entire week of workouts. We are here to push you far beyond what you think you are capable of. We are not going to demean or embarrass you. We are here to motivate, encourage and see you achieve amazing results.

“Before starting Fitness Rangers Bootcamp, I was in horrible shape. I had managed to stay thin through college, but that all changed a few years later when I gave birth to my son. I was desperate to lose the baby weight, get back into shape, and feel good again. After attending Fitness Rangers Bootcamp, I had accomplished that goal and actually exceeded it by quite a bit. I am currently in the best shape of my life and it has benefited me greatly. I have started playing new sports, like tennis, and it feels great doing it. I am no longer exausted by the time the weekend comes, and now have lots more energy for fun events with my family. The greatest bonus that I got from this experience was all the great people that I met while doing it. We all accomplished something together. Thanks a lot, you guys are great!”

“I don’t know where to begin to endorse the Fitness Rangers Bootcamp program. I was a competitive multi-sport athlete through high school and have followed a regular exercise routine since quitting competitive sports. Despite all of that, I’ve carried an extra 20-30 pounds of weight that I haven’t been able to shed. Even when I trained for and ran a marathon in a very respectable time, I didn’t see much weight loss.
When my friend convinced me to try Fitness Rangers Bootcamp last year, I figured, I’d give it a try. Since then I’ve dropped almost 30 pounds and gained significant strength, agility and conditioning. I’ve also had a ton of fun doing it. I have met some really great people and actually look forward to pushing my body to its limits before the sun comes up! Hoorah!”

“Joining an exercise group, especially a bootcamp-type activity can be very intimidating for anyone. But the Fitness Rangers instructors make it comfortable for everyone. They are supportive and definitely motivate you. They push you to your limits, and celebrate your milestones. Fitness Rangers Bootcamp has changed my body dramatically. I am stronger, more lean and have a ton of energy. The workouts are varied but calculated to produce maximum results in a 1 hour period. Some of the benefits from joining Fitness Rangers Bootcamp are accountability, camaraderie and knowledge. Be on time and in uniform if you don’t want the rest of the group to suffer. You will develop friendships with fun, outgoing people. You will learn how far your body can be pushed as well as hundreds of exercises that you can use on your own at home or in the gym.“

“Fitness Rangers Bootcamp has given me a new outlook on life! After having my twin daughters 4 years ago, I neglected my previous fitness routine. My friend introduced me to Fitness Rangers Bootcamp and I am addicted! It has given me my strength and confidence back and has helped me be a better, more patient, less tired mother. The Fitness Rangers Bootcamp program has pushed me to fitness levels that I never would have thought I would have attained. The team spirit lifts you up, as we are all there to encourage each other. Sign-up and you will feel and see the improvements! Hoorah!“

Fitness Rangers Bootcamp is fast, fun and you get results! I made the commitment one year ago and since that time I have become stronger, quicker and have lost more than 20 pounds. I grew up an athlete and staying in shape was not a challenge for me. Fast forward 20 years, and now I am a working mom. I don’t have a lot of time to dedicate to working out, so that time that I do have I want to invest in a good quality workout. Fitness Rangers not only provides a great workout, but the trainers and other participants push me to do more each day. I recommend Fitness Rangers to anyone, at any fithess level. It is a warm welcoming environment and great for anyone looking for a fast, fun workout with outstanding results. Hoorah!

“Fitness Rangers Bootcamp is by far one of the best fitness decisions I’ve ever made. Their instructors want to see each person succeed, and push you to your limit. I really didn’t think I’d start seeing results so quickly, but after three weeks I was seeing more toned muscles, higher energy and a lot more stamina. I feel accomplished and proud after each class because I’m doing exercises and workouts I never thought I could pull off!”
Mike S. – Sacramento
I had been getting bored at the gym. The same old workout. Running was getting old too. And, free time is short for me these days, so I wasn’t at all maximizing my workouts. The boredom and routine had stolen my motivation, and I slowly got out of shape. I saw a review of Fitness Rangers a few months before beginning and thought it sounded like fun. For me, it was a great move.
I have been impressed with Fitness Rangers since my first workout. The workout was great, and I was using muscles I forgot I had. Thought that first workout seemed brutal, they have gotten easier (and fun) as I have quickly gotten back into shape.
The instructors are great. They rotate though, but somehow they know and remember everyone’s names. The workouts are never the same. Nothing is routine. We move quickly through them, which is great for short-attention-span people like me. They push you, encourage you, and help you succeed
The other participants are also great. A majority are return customers, and they are all in fantastic shape (all attribute that to Fitness Rangers). There are varying levels of fitness and nobody gets left behind or is made to feel self-conscious. Everyone is super-cool and we work well as a team.
If you want to truly maximize the workout time you have, you have to check Fitness Rangers out!

“I’m joining Fitnes Rangers Bootcamp”, I said. My friends and family said “you go, girl!” But all of them thought “you must be nuts”. And they are probably right!. I’m 57 years old – and although I’m probably in the best shape of my life-after-children, my treadmill workouts didn’t seem challenging enough. In 2009 I lost 50 pounds, and had another 10 to go – and although my health is greatly improved, something was missing. I picked up a Fitness Rangers brochure at the yogurt shop near work. I checked out the website and sent a few emails to Adam. His kindness, thoughtful responses and encouragement made the decision easy.
So, fast-forward a couple of weeks, and here I am, first day of bootcamp. Somehow, I made it through, and it was the hardest thing I had ever done. I didn’t keep up with the rest of the class, but I did what I could and a little more. I challenged myself to do one more rep – even if the total was only 4 – it was 4 more than I did the day before. I left that first day happy, tired and hooked on bootcamp. Over the next 3 weeks, my stamina and strength improved every session. My instructors and fellow recruits were so encouraging, inspiring and helpful. My 4 reps became 10, and now I can mostly keep up with the class. But it doesn’t matter that I keep up with the others – what matters is I improve my level of fitness each week. Before the start of my 4th week – I took my measurements. I lost an inch in my bust, waist, and in my hips.
I look forward to the 6am workouts twice a week. I enjoy the glorious early morning, and take pride in my accomplishments – from 0 pushups to 20, times 3. And hey, is that an ab muscle I see there? I’m addicted to the positive energy, to the hard work, and to the results I can see. My friends and family now say “wow, you glow with good health.” Thanks Fitness Rangers – for the kindness, the encouragement and the awesome workouts.

I wanted to thank Fitness Rangers Bootcamp a million times for everything it has done to help me. The program has made it possible for me to get into such great shape over these last 2-3 years. I ran and finished my first 100-mile run — the Western States 100 — at the end of June. It was a dream come true to be in this race…and to actually finish seemed to good to be true.
I started running in 2002 and by 2003, I had made up my mind that I wanted to run Western States. After a series of injuries in 2005 and some other health problems I was told by doctors in 2006 that I “would never run more than a few miles again, if any at all.” I remember that day in the doctor’s office perfectly, and I vowed then and there to prove them all wrong. Five years later, I did. It was a long battle, but it meant the world to me to be out there on that course in an attempt to run 100. When I started Fitness Rangers Bootcamp in 2007, I was so impressed by the results and as I’ve continued these past two years, it has helped to bring me to a fitness level that I didn’t even know I could achieve. I showed up at Squaw Valley (the start of the race) in the best shape of my life. Some of that was my own running up and down canyons repeatedly for the previous 6 months, but a lot of that was also just my overall body strength and core fitness which I developed and strengthened through the Fitness Rangers Bootcamp program. So, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! I don’t know if I could have achieved my dream without your support and encouragement — and without the toughness of all the other ‘regular’ boot campers who pushed me to my limits. If I could, I’d be a ‘boot camper’ for life!
